We track the books we send to avoid repeats from us. If a repeat slips through, contact us so we can help. This doesn’t cover every book already in your personal library—your curator note is the place to share those.
Can I tell you what’s already on my shelf?
Absolutely. Use the optional curator note for books you own, authors you love, or things you’d rather avoid. A real person reads it. Requests guide your selections, but we can’t promise specific titles or authors.
Why do I choose at least four genres?
Four or more gives your curator enough variety to find good matches among the available books. Choose your favorites from all fourteen genres; you can pick more than four.
Are the books new? Hardcover or paperback?
Books are new or like-new and unread. Some may have minor shelf, corner or storage wear. Boxes can include hardcovers and paperbacks; the mix depends on availability. Add a format preference to your note if you have one.
What else comes in every box?
Two paper bookmarks and two stickers, with designs chosen at random. The metal bookmarks and folding book light are optional upgrades. Qualifying prepaid plans include the gifts shown with that plan.
Where do you ship, and when?
Book boxes ship free to U.S. addresses and are usually processed in 1–3 business days. Carrier delivery time is separate and varies by address. Tracking is provided when your box ships. Read the shipping policy ↗
Can I change or pause my monthly subscription?
Yes. Pause, skip, reschedule, cancel, change your box size or change your genres anytime in your Customer Portal. We email you a sign-in link, no password needed. Monthly billing starts with 40% off your first box, then 15% off later boxes on your recurring billing date.
How do prepaid plans and their gifts work?
Pay upfront for the available prepaid term shown in the box builder. Each term lists its current price, included benefits and renewal details before you add it to your bag. Manage an existing subscription through the Subi customer portal.
What if something arrives damaged?

The Joy of Discovering Books You Didn't Know You Needed
I just received my first box from The Book Subscription, and it was such a hit! As someone who owns close to 900 books, I was honestly a little worried I'd receive something I already had on my shelves. But to my surprise, not a single duplicate!
What impressed me even more was the selection itself. Every book was one I hadn't heard of before, yet somehow they all fit perfectly within the genres I love to read.
There's something really special about opening a box of books and genuinely not knowing what's inside, especially when the selections feel like they were picked just for you. The bookmarks and stickers are too adorable. My first box absolutely exceeded my expectations, and I'm already looking forward to the next one!
