BLIND DATE WITH A BOOK, BY SUBSCRIPTION
Blind Date with a Book
Every month, a set-up that fits.
A blind date with a book is a book you choose without seeing the cover. TheBookScription is that idea as a subscription box: you tell us what you like, a real person picks 3 to 6 new or like-new books for you, and you meet them when you open the box.
No covers to judge, no algorithm, and no books you've told us you own.
- 3, 4, 5 or 6 books
- From $35.99 a box
- Free U.S. shipping
- Skip or cancel online
Why a blind date beats browsing
14 genres to set you up with
Thriller, Romance, Fantasy, Historical Fiction, Horror, Self-Help and more. Pick at least four and we'll mix them.
A surprise you can count on
New or like-new books, two bookmarks and two stickers in every box, free U.S. shipping, and skip or cancel online.
I just received my first box from The Book Subscription, and it was such a hit! As someone who owns close to 900 books, I was honestly a little worried I'd receive something I already had on my shelves. But to my surprise, not a single duplicate! What impressed me even more was the selection itself. Every book was one...
I love the variety and the surprise of discovering new mystery books I may not have picked out on my own. Everything was packaged nicely, and the whole experience made opening the box feel extra fun. I’m definitely looking forward to reading through my selections and ordering again. Thank you!
How it works

- Tell your curator about you. Favorite authors, books you own, anything to skip. A real person reads it.
- Open your surprise. New and like-new books, hand-picked, shipped free. Change genres, skip or cancel online anytime.

Questions
What is a blind date with a book?
It's a book wrapped or hidden so you can't judge it by its cover, usually with a few clues about the story. You choose it on the clues and meet it when you open it.
Is there a blind date with a book subscription?
Yes: TheBookScription is a monthly blind date with a book box. You choose the number of books (3 to 6) and your genres, write a note about your taste, and a person picks your books. You can also buy one box, or send one as a gift.
Are the books wrapped?
Your books arrive in the box as a surprise; you see the titles when you open it. The fun is in not knowing what you'll get, not in the wrapping.
What if I don't like my date?
Tell us in your curator note or update it anytime, and your next box adjusts. Returns are accepted within 7 days of delivery when the books come back in the condition you received them.
Blind date with a book or mystery book box: what's the difference?
A blind date with a book is usually one wrapped book chosen from a shelf for anyone. A mystery book box is 3 to 6 books chosen for you: your genres, your note, and a record of what you've already received. Both are a surprise when you open them.
Are the books new or used?
New or like-new, and unread. Boxes are priced by size (3 to 6 books), with a lower price per box when you subscribe monthly or prepay; today's prices are on the box page.
